Q&A:

What’s your name? Stefan Sretenovic, A.K.A. Floyboy.

What do you do? [I’m a] sound engineer, producer, musician, and rapper local out of Las Vegas.

Where can people find you on social media? @Stefansretenovic_ on Instagram, Floyboy on all streaming platforms.

What’s it like making music during the pandemic? On my grind, I just be on my same old, with the same inspiration.

So it’s the same as before the pandemic? [The pandemic] opened my eyes to a lot of things, I realized my true talents after being locked in by myself and stuff.

Have you worked with any other artists during the pandemic? Yes- with Sailor Z @sailorz_, D. Raines @darrenraines, Juju @gray_seph.

Has the pandemic changed collaboration on the creative process? It’s become a lot more technical, collaborating through the internet rather than as much studio time.

Would you say it’s harder to make music in this time, especially in the small-time artist community? Yeah, because it’s harder to make real connection over the internet compared to really getting out there before all this.

Do you think it’s easier or harder to “blow up” during the pandemic? It’s harder to blow up because of the previous points, though there is more traffic online so it’s compensated a little bit.

What do you think of platforms like TikTok being used as a “shortcut” to blow up? I think TikTok is one of the best opportunities to blow up in 2021, there’s an organic way of reaching people. It’s like on Instagram or Twitter you need a previous following built up to get your name out there, but on TikTok it only takes one song to blow up and really make it big. It’s helped a lot especially with the pandemic going on, and especially as a small, local artist.
